A line is a series of dots!

If a line is a series of dots then the dot in itself plays an important role individually as well. I saw a design of leopard spots a while back and tried something...my selection of colour was anything but fierce. I present the  candy bits design.

Perhaps if I had used black instead it would have been fierce! Oh well I like it...it reminds me of pieces of candy.
This one I think is a bit bold with the purple tips with white outlines. The white lines are actually dotted with flourescent green. Then of course there's the signature thumb nail...which I did not plan but it came out awesome! Don't you think so?

The Return of the Stripe!

As with all else, people have favourites...mine it appears happens to be stripes. Below are two other designs using similar patterns but different colours from before.
This one above is actually supposed to glow in the dark...and yes it did a little.
This one uses a pink tip with white dots and the black stripes, with the middle finger being a stand out pattern.

Response to mum's design

These two designs are a response to my mum's design which is two posts down.  I did this one with a Carnival theme. Carnival in Trinidad is a spectacular 2 day event (officially) of mas, music and revelry in the sun. It is surrounded by a barrage of events which start from as early as 6 months in advance. Feel free to google it...people all over come to the twin island to participate in it.

This one could also fall into a carnival theme but I think I did it around Valentine's day.

Do you like? What about the yellow accented tips?

Strawberry nails and the inner child

Its really amazing how little things could evoke strong emotions.Just a couple weeks ago I was looking at different nail designs online and came across the strawberry look. Naturally as I was bored and had the colours (red and green) I decided to try it out on myself. Oooh boy did my mum like this one.
Ok so I didn't crop the pic but big whoop... there is nothing confidential in the background. :-) So I'm looking at my nails and they remind me of some childhood toy a doll...was there ever a doll with strawberry in the name...sure of course. It reminded me of my little pony...the pink one I took with me to preschool! Oh my did that ever surprise me. Have you ever had that happen to you? Association of one thing completely apart from another in the past? No I'm not being nostalgic here. What fruits have you used in your designs?

No churn ice cream

Save for diabetics, the lactose intolerant and people with sensitive teeth, who doesn't like ice cream? I ventured on a quest to find a simple recipe for homemade ice cream that didn't require an icre-cream pail (ice cream maker thingy). So I did the obvious thing and googled just that....and surprise surprise I found recipes for no churn ice creams.

These guys http://www.kevinandamanda.com/recipes/dessert/easy-homemade-ice-cream-without-a-machine.html have some wonderful recipes. I tried it and yes it is super duper cool! One thing though it comes out really firm. I actually cut it out of the container with a knife. I also over did it on the condensed milk side but I suppose I can tweak to suit!

Are there any other alternatives you know for ice cream? Any easy ones that is.

My mum's design

So my mum and I share this hobby of nail artistry and her patterns are more decorative than mine. She does not seek to always cover the entire nail with her designs as I do.
See one of her designs below. The elements of her design, like mine are pretty simple...lines and dots using colour to add effect. What do you think?

The shortest distance between two points!

The shortest distance between two points is a straight line! Isn't it? lol!
Here are a few nail designs I did with lines:

This one was inspired I think by a top /blouse that I own with 3 or more colours in an abstract pattern.

This one I was just messing around with my orange and gold. I opted for the design on one nail to stand out here.

Ahh let's not forget there can also be an elegant side to nail art. All nail art of mine do not have to be funky. I did this one for a wedding. Its pretty simple and took little time to do.

Then again I felt to do a design with a signature nail using animal print. Somehow my spots don't look as well as my stripes.

My mum thinks I choose weird colours for my nails and repeatedly ask me not to use dark colours on them..but I like the look of dark nails. I'll post some pics of my dark nails soon, hopefully!

Striped frenchies!

Striped designs keep coming into my mind so I decided to try a few more. This time I used them as tips....like french tips....except well they aren't. What other designs can I do using the stripes for tips?
This one is kind of Christmas like. The colour scheme was not really intentional...I simply used the colours I had at hand...no pun intended.

This one was probably not the best selection of colours based on my skin complexion...which is dark btw (I'm of East Indian descent...so its not unheard of)

I went for a subtle light blue glitter dust to cover the remaining portion of the nail...in hindsight I should have put a very light pink base before that. Oh well.

Nail art with stripes

I've found myself recently attracted to the use of lines and stripes in my nail designs. I've experimented with vertical and horizontal lines, zebra stripes, tiger stripes and found them easy to do and fun to look at and try. My colour combinations may not be to your taste but some times I like going for something that could be considered weird.

I have a tiger inspired (well also zebra inspired really) design below.

I also did in in another colour just to see how it would look. Its a Jordana grape. It goes on pretty thick but smooth and has great coverage with the first coat.

Oooh and this is one without the white stripes.

Tell me what you think. Stripes are in our out?

Welcome

Hello,

This is Lisey Belle and welcome to my Blog. Thanks for taking the time to browse. Feel free to comment to email me if you have any questions. The majority of them (my blog posts) would probably be based on my own art-zy type things; things that came out ok and some that didn't.

Have fun!
